Our Home (part I)

By special request, I am posting some pictures of where we live. We love all the old buildings in Chicago, all the brick everywhere. We have found it quite charming to live in and old walk-up style building. Our building was built sometime in the early 1900's, so it's probably reaching 100 years old now. (It's in need of a few renovations as well!)

Our apartment building at the end of summer, early fall

Same view in the winter. We live in the building on the right on the first floor. The windows on the very bottom are considered the basement level, so we're at the level above that (you can't see our windows in this picture though).

Our street in the summer. It's so pretty and green! Our building is on the right side of this street. Can't really see it though. It's a nice quiet street.

Our street again, in the fall. So vibrant looking!

This last pictures was taken just yesterday! It's so fun to see the change in colors and seasons.

So, that's the outside of where we live. One of these days I'll post phase II with pictures of the inside of our apartment.

(I was looking at old pictures last night and there was one of you, me, Rae Acklen, and Jessica ?. We were at seminary graduation. Oh, memories!)

Hey Melanie,

I love your new background! It looks fabulous. Hey, I just linked to your latest post with pictures of our street. I hope that's okay. I'm so bad at taking pictures of our building and street.

Holy smokes! This morning I got up to see ice on my windshield, and I thought that was horrible and crazy. I can't imagine how early I'd have to wake up to scrape all of that snow off & driving through it. Ahhh!

I love how you have seasons! Still I'm not sure I could handle the cold. I can't wait to see more. Your blog looks great.
