Today I received that dreaded letter in the mail.
I got a Jury Summons, my very first one.
I've been registered to vote for nearly 10 year now, so I think I did pretty good avoiding jury duty for 10 years!
I've always wondered when I would get my first summons, and I've often thought how I would be able to get out of it. I know it's my civil duty and all, but everyone knows jury duty is not really fun nor is it ever convenient.
Luckily for me, they summoned me to the Phoenix court (who knows why) and I am a resident of Chicago, so I don't qualify.
Whew!

I dread Jury Duty. I don't know why exactly. I think it's because I feel that I wouldn't know what the right choice would be or that I couldn't judge them. But I got a Jury Summons too. I'm supposed to report in 2 Mondays. And it's all the way over in Phoenix. I've received 3 Jury Summons in total, but this is my 2nd summons since Spencer was born. I'm secretly hoping that the case is settled the Friday before and so we don't have to show up. I guess that only time will tell. I just can't figure out why I keep getting summoned and Jon doesn't. Even though, I can't imagine that he'd ever be picked as a juror because he's an attorney.
I've been summoned for jury duty twice in Chicago and been selected for a case both times. The cases both lasted 2-3 times. It was kind of fun.
Holy Cow, you're lucky...I've been called 4 or 5 times already!
Hi Melanie! Remember us:) I had to say hi real quick and tell you how cute that little Owen boy is! Love him already:) Sounds like life is going wonderful! Sorry about jury duty:( Good luck!

Thats so funny. I enjoyed doing jury duty last year...but I didn't have to worry about childcare. If I did, I would have hated it. I'm glad you got out of it!
I just got summoned too! I excused myself. LOL. I should have done it. But, didn't have anyone to watch my kids. Wasn't too sad about it.
